Once again school bells rang in the halls of his old building when on Thursday, November 18th the Central School Alumni Club
held its first semiannual get-together. The turn-of-the-century
class room was decorated in a theme to match the occasion with

with books, an apple, pencils, etc. An antique lunch pail was
open and waiting for donations to club efforts.
Old annuals and Central School memorabilia lay open on a table
for members to enjoy at their leisure.
|
At 2 pm sharp "teacher" Rick Riley called members to class
with the ringing of a hand bell, and from there the fun
began.
|
Members were asked for reminiscences from their days at the
school. Many stories were recorded regarding friendships,
special teachers and the fun of being students at Central
School.
Special guests were Mabel Fisher, who entered first grade
in 1915, and Torrance Harvey, who taught at Central School
from 1950 to 1990.

Mr. Riley introduced "school board members"
Dorothy McGlenn, Donna Jean Smith, Tom Perry, Fran Ruby,
Beth Adele Beller, and Marian Wise.
Recess was called at 3 pm, at which point refreshments were
served, along with much visiting and reminiscing by the
group.
The next meeting will be held in July at the school. Please
come and join us!
The only requirements are that you attended Central School
sometime between 1894 and 1990, and you are a member of the
Northwest Montana Historical Society.
